JESSE'S TESTIMONY A year and a half ago our fifteen year old son, Jesse, was diagnosed with leukemia. With the type he had, he was given less than a forty percent chance of it going into remission. A friend told Bro. Doug about our son's situation. Without hesitation, the church and the youth group began earnestly praying for Jesse, even though they had never met him. The first time we met Bro. Doug and his family was when they drove over to see Jesse at the hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. They brought their guitars and sang and prayed for him there in his room. The strength they brought with them was beyond encouraging. The confidence in their faith was powerful! Our son's supressed immune system had left him vulnerable to a life threatening fungus, which began to rage throughout his body. The doctors expected it to spread to his brain and other organs, leading to his death. God touched our son, and the fungus died!! To this day, Jesse is the only recorded survivor of this particular fungus. Eight weeks later we were on our way home from the hospital, healed and whole! The prayer warriors of the church continued to bless our family in many ways, and our lives haven't been the same since. Bro. Doug made it possible, through the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, for our family to spend four days of beautiful scenery and awesome hunting at the Legends Ranch in Michigan. The Stokes' drove over a thousand miles to be with us and be a part of this experience. To us, they are true heroes of the faith! Rest assured, we give God and God alone all the glory for Jesse's healing, and we praise HIM for it. Jesse continues in health. God has blessed him with an abundance of musical talent, and he currently plays drums for Harvestime/Cross Mountain. One of the ways he shares his testimony of God's awesome healing power is through the songs he has written about it. We want to encourage you to visit Cross Mountain and see for yourselves that it is truly a place where God abides. Michael, Carol, and Jesse Wheeler |
